7th Nordic Blockchain Conference 2025 Coming to Stockholm

Stockholm, Sweden, February 20th, 2025, Chainwire

The seventh edition of the Nordic Blockchain Conference (NBC) is coming to Stockholm on 18-19 June 2025.

The Swedish city of Stockholm embodies the Nordic ethos of innovation, collaboration, and technological advancement. It is an ideal location for the event, which will be hosted at the Epicenter Stockholm. With an expected attendance of nearly 1,000, over 100 confirmed speakers, and nearly a dozen side events to expand the topics discussed, the conference continues to hold the title of the largest blockchain gathering in the Nordic region.  The event is a creation of the Nordic Blockchain Association (NBA), a non-profit organization facilitating the largest professional web3 network in the Nordics.

The NBC is aimed at a wide range of attendees, including blockchain professionals at all levels, along with business leaders of both the Web2 and Web3 world. The topics of discussion will be of particular interest to the financial industry like banks, institutional investors and venture capitalists. But also to policymakers, regulators, legal experts and developers. In addition to academia, researchers, tech enthusiasts, media and communication professionals. Hence, through our panel discussions, firesides, keynotes and side events we will provide an update on the latest trends, business use cases and value propositions for all stakeholders within the landscape of Blockchain in the Nordics.

Current speakers for the event include both Nordic central and traditional bankers, public sector officials focused on policy/digitalization, and a number of C-level and founder figures from Nordic blockchain platforms such as Partisia, Safello, and Concordium, among others. The event will also feature well known speakers from international blockchain protocols and ventures.

The themes of the conference are both timely and critical to the future of Blockchain and Web3, not just in the Nordic region but worldwide.  These include:

Transforming Finance: Traditional finance and Digital Assets are merging closer together as never before. Stablecoin payment solutions are being integrated into ERP-system. Settlement volumes have surpassed traditional finance volumes.  While at the same time Bitcoin is being adopted for strategic Government reserve purposes. In addition, the mechanisms of DeFi are designing new railways for the infrastructure of the future of finance, and real world assets are being introduced on a larger scale. All of this needs to be seen in the perspective of upcoming Central Bank Digital Currencies and a World macro perspective that brings challenges as well as opportunities.
Regulation & Policy: The new EU Regulation MiCA is leading the way. However, as much as it brings clarity and opportunities. It also comes with challenges. Together with key stakeholders from the public and private side we will bring clarity on how to build strategies and navigate within the European and EEA market. These discussions will touch on policies, taxing guidelines, legal compliance, bookkeeping and auditing.
AI & Decentralized Infrastructure:  The fast-moving evolution of AI, especially when paired with a maturing distributed ledger, is transforming many aspects of the traditional industry verticals.  This topic will cover the technical aspects of digital identities, privacy, and security. Focus areas will include ESG initiatives, DePIN, DeSci, healthcare, and tokenization.

Jakob Mikkel Hansen, CEO and board member of the NBA, shared his thoughts on the organization: “Nordic blockchain Association is the largest nonprofit organization within blockchain. Our objective is to educate and share the knowledge about blockchain because we believe the core value and the technology provide a great opportunity for us as a society, but also a great business opportunity if we really adopt this technology.”

In addition to the main conference, NBC will feature a bustling business district, an NFT gallery, and an exclusive business lounge, all aimed at fostering an interactive environment where networking drives success.
