The ICP EU Hackathon is back, and this time with AI as the central theme!
Organised by the ICP EU Alliance, a collaborative network of ICP Hubs from across Europe, including Portugal, Bulgaria, Poland, Germany, and France – the event is set to kick off this September.
The AI hackathon brings together Europe’s most talented developers, entrepreneurs, and Web3 enthusiasts, providing an arena to reimagine decentralised applications and services built on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP).
Hackathon Timeline and Structure
The month-long event promises to ignite creativity, providing a platform where ideas transform into real-world solutions.
September 29th: Project registration deadline at 23:59 (Lisbon Time).
September 30th: Online Hacking Kickoff.
October 6th: Coding Submission Deadline at 23:59 (Lisbon Time)).
October 7th: Winner Announcement.
This year’s hackathon will feature two tracks: **AI** and **Generic**, with the top six teams taking home prizes. Participants will dive into blockchain and Web3 solutions, using ICP to develop prototypes that solve real-world problems.
Eligibility and Submission Guidelines
To participate, teams must meet the following criteria:
Project ideas should be unique to ICP, with ideally no existing similar solutions in the ICP ecosystem.
Participants must be proficient in English and over the age of 18.
The hackathon emphasises creativity and code sophistication, with projects judged on originality, thoughtfulness, and how thoroughly the ideas are developed. Participants will submit their pitch decks and videos via Taikai by the October 6th deadline.
Prizes and Bounties
Prizes will be awarded across two tracks: AI and Generic. All tier prizes for the AI track include special free tickets to the upcoming Crypto AI Conference in Lisbon.
AI Track:
1st Place: USD 2,500 in stablecoins, PR campaign, 2 tickets to AI conference in Lisbon (November),and flights covered for two team members from anywhere in Europe.
2nd Place: USD 1,500 in stablecoins and two free tickets to AI conference in Lisbon.
3rd Place: USD 500 in stablecoins and one free ticket to the AI conference in Lisbon.
Generic Track:
1st Place: USD 1,500 in stablecoins and a PR campaign.
2nd Place: USD 1,000 in stablecoins.
3rd Place: USD 500 in stablecoins.
