Reutlingen, Germany, August 9th, 2024, Chainwire

Former Arsenal great Ray Parlour has become the newest athlete to team up with the famed online gambling brand NetBet, assuming the role of this platform’s UK ambassador. The Internet gaming and betting giant, founded in 2001, owned and operated by NetBet Enterprises Ltd, now has Parlour’s face plastered on its social media profiles, using his likeness to advertise its services.

The Gunners midfielder, who spent twelve years at Highbury, joins a special society of retired superstars who have acted as the face of NetBet, including Brazilian idol Ze Roberto and former Chelsea and Romanian full-back Dan Petrescu, who was NetBet’s first ambassador when this site launched its Romanian version, bringing casino and sports betting action to remote gamblers in Romania.

Parlour proclaimed that – he is thrilled to be a part of NetBet and cannot wait to get involved with the company, fulfilling the plans it has for him. With over four hundred appearances for Arsenal, Ray ranks among Tony Adams, Thierry Henry, Ian Wright, David Seaman, Patrick Vieira, and Liam Brady as players most synonymous with the London Red and White kit. Marcel Prioteasa, NetBet’s Chief Executive Officer, revealed in a statement that he and everyone at his company are delighted to have Parlour on board, adding that – “Ray is one of the most beloved football characters in the United Kingdom. So, we are excited to bring exclusive content featuring him to users, including his expert opinions.”

About NetBet

Headquartered in Malta on 209 Marina Street, Pieta, NetBet Enterprises Lt is a gambling operator with offices in Romania and the United Kingdom, employing over five hundred people. NetBet attained its Malta Gaming Authority license in 2006 as Cosmo Gaming. In 2015, it entered the Romanian market, receiving regulatory approval from the Oficiul National pentru Jocuri de Noroc (ONJN), and a year later, it became active in the United Kingdom, getting licensed and monitored by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC).

The UK version of this hub is the initial UK-based gambling platform to accept cryptos as a viable payment method in 2016 when the UK Gambling Commission recognized Bitcoin as a fiat money equivalent. That same year, NetBet signed a six-year deal with Playtech, one of the world’s best-known software game providers.

Aside from gaming and sports betting, NetBet’s variants have had a track record of organizing poker tournaments that bring gamblers to established competitions, such as the Israel Poker Tour and Poker Fest. Concerning football sponsorships, aside from working with individual players, NetBet has also buddied up with clubs like West Bromwich Albion Football Club, with whom it agreed to a stadium advertising deal. The Malta-based company also has a track record of working with horse races and combat sports organizations. Regarding the former, it has sponsored races at the Fontwell Park Racecourse and Goodwood Racecourse, and concerning the latter, it has helped finance multiple Bare Knuckle Boxing events.

NetBet Launches & Expands Into Denmark

In February 2024, Claudia Georgevici NetBet Denmark PR manager, declared the brand’s successful entry into Denmark through a license granted by Spillemyndigheden, the Danish gambling regulator. In a press release celebrating NetBet’s Danish debut, Georgevici stated that this move represents a vital step in the company looking to break through in more licensed European territories. Denmark is a crucial Old Continent gambling region, as its licensor and overseer Spillemyndigheden reported that in 2023, this territory pulled in €912 million in gambling revenue, representing a 5.95% rise compared to the 2022 figure.

Two months after NetBet’s services became available to Danish online gamblers, the company announced it joined forces with two interactive gaming powerhouses, Wazdan and Stakelogic. Wazdan is a 2010 global product supplier, active in over twenty jurisdictions, including stringently regulated North American markets such as Michigan, West Virginia, New Jersey, and Ontario. Its slogan is Passion for Games, and Wazdan is the recipient of the 2022 Best Slot Provider in the Baltics honor at the Baltic and Scandinavian Gaming Awards.

Stakelogic, on the other hand, is a somewhat young game provider, launching its operation in 2015, active in the United Kingdom, and known among Internet game of chance enthusiasts for releases like Candy Wild Bonanza, Black Gold Megaways, and Bandits Thunder Link. Claudia Georgevici noted that Wazdan’s continuous commitment to responsible gaming makes it an ideal partner for NetBet’s Danish expansion, and she is happy that the site’s Danish iteration will now feature Wazdan games. On the Stakelogic agreement, Georgevici added that Stakelogic’s library of innovative titles will add much-needed diversity to NetBet’s game catalog for the brand’s customers in Denmark.

It should get noted that in mid-April 2024, NetBet Denmark also agreed to collaborate with Play’n GO, another notable software provider, the creator of the Book of Dead series and the Reactoonz slots.
